Dragons v Titans

Sunday 21st August, 2pm

Try Scorer Tips

Tino Fa’asuamaleuai ATS @ $7.25 on Sportsbet

Jaimin Jolliffe FTS @ $81 on Bet365/Playup (Scratch – benched)

Erin Clark FTS/LTS Team @ $34 & 1st, 2nd or 3rd try @ $23 on TAB (Void – Injured)

Update Sun 21/8 – The Titans’ leader big Tino is back and available at $7.50 to score a try anytime. We’ll also say that $51 to score the first try is a good value play also (available on Sportsbet & Bet365) as long as he is confirmed to start in final teams. Jolliffe is still $81 and we think it’s a good value play for someone who scored the first try last weekend and is up against a frail Dragons middle today.

Update after final teams – Jolliffe has been benched for Jarrod Wallace. Wallace is $67 to score the first try on Neds which we think is a good value play. Tino is also paying $51 to score first on TAB & Bet365 which we love as he’s now a confirmed starter.

NRL Draftstars Advice

There are quite a few DFS relevant options under $11k in this contest. Aaron Woods plays his 250th and with the Dragons missing a few of their regular players, we think he might get a few extra minutes and is a chance of getting over in a milestone game. Amone is coming off a hat-trick and going up against a weak Titans defence so we would recommend him as a value pick at $10,620 also.

There are 5 players with a ceiling range over 70 points. Our standout pick amongst the bunch is Greg Marzhew. His DFS scoring form and his price has been affected by his games off the bench. When he does play, the attacking side of his game is undeniable. An absolute steal at $13,620.

Knights v Raiders

Sunday 21st August, 4.05pm

Try Scorer Tips

Daniel Saifiti FTS @ $81 on Neds

Dane Gagai FTS/LTS Team @ $13 on TAB

Anthony Milford FTS/LTS Team @ $26 on TAB

Update Sun 21/8 – Milford & Gagai are the same price on TAB. If you prefer shorter odds, their ATS price is also good value. Daniel & Jacob Saifiti are both available at $81 to score the first try, we are just waiting for final teams to confirm which one will start. Watch out for our Tweets or join our free Discord channel where we post updates usually a minute after final teams are announced.

Update after final teams – Fogarty is $34 FTS/LTS on Pointsbet which we think is great value. Tom Starling is paying $51 to score the 2nd, 3rd and last try on TAB which is also great value as he’s now starting.

NRL Draftstars Advice

Matt Croker & Jordan Rapana are our two favourite picks under $11k here. Rapana is playing for a Raiders outfit that needs to win all 3 remaining regular season games to have a shot at making the top 8. He’s been in reasonable form but we think he can crack 40 up against a Knights side who has been terrible recently. Croker is priced at $9k and should get a decent crack in terms of minutes and opportunity for DFS points with only Klemmer & the Saifiti brothers to contend with for middle forward minutes. Our model has him projected to score 27 points but we think if the game follows the script most fans think, he could easily get there just in base stats alone.

There are four players in this contest with a ceiling range above 70. No surprises here but we think Hudson Young is the way to go. He’s on Jack Wighton’s left edge, has been in great try scoring form and will step up in a must-win game against the struggling Knights. If you think the Knights can surprise the Raiders, then Dane Gagai is a great pick at less than $13k with a ceiling range of 79.

Rabbitohs v Panthers

Thursday 18th August, 7.50pm

Try Scorer Tips

Jai Arrow First Try Scorer (FTS) @ $51 on Neds

Tevita Tatola FTS @ $71 on TAB

Isaah Yeo FTS @ $81 on Neds

Cam Murray FTS @ $41 on Neds

Cam Murray at $41 to score the first try tonight is great value compared to his historical strike rate at scoring first in his NRL career. Tatola has been in excellent try scoring form in 2022. We think both are great plays, especially considering the Panthers are a weaker side without Cleary & Luai and leading their premier front-rower in Fisher-Harris.

Jai Arrow plays on the lethal left edge for South Sydney. He’s price around $40 by our model and at that price or less on most other bookies. We think this is a great value play. Isaah Yeo is priced at $61 or less on most bookies, priced at $74 by our model and we’ve found him at $81 on Neds. Without Cleary & Luai, he will get a lot of ball so we like the $81 for him to go over first in what is expected to be a tight contest.

NRL Draftstars Advice

With no AFL on Thursday night, there’s a $20,000 prize pool for the main contest for this blockbuster game. Looking at the cheaper players in this contest, Jaemon Salmon & Brian To’o seem like standout picks. Our model has projected Salmon to score 36 points but he’s scored between 38 and 51 in the last three weeks and it’s easy to see why he’s been rated a 10/10 for value. To’o has excellent base stats for someone in the OB position and the $12,120 price tag is really good for someone with the potential upside of scoring a try or two outside of Stephen Crichton.

There are 7 players with a ceiling range (3 highest DFS scores in 2022) above 70. Latrell Mitchell has reportedly had groin issues this week and may not be goal-kicking. With the doubt around his goal-kicking status, we think it’d be wise to keep him out of your team. Isaah Yeo has had to pick up the slack with Cleary, Luai & Fisher-Harris out. He scored 73 last week against the Storm and we think he can easily exceed our model’s projection of 59 and is our standout pick for this contest at $20,290.

Of the other players with a high ceiling range, we think Tatola and Kikau aren’t the best options as you would be hoping for a big tackle busting or try scoring play from them to hit their ceiling. Damien Cook is much more likely to exceed his projected score through base stats and can be a nuisance around the ruck late in tight games so we think he should be a handy pick up in this contest as well.

Cowboys v Warriors

Friday 19th August, 6pm

Try Scorer Tips

Chad Townsend FTS @ $41 & ATS @ $6 on Pointsbet

Valentine Holmes ATS @ $2.5 on Pointsbet

Luciano Leilua FTS @ $29 & ATS @ $4.10 on Neds

Jack Murchie FTS @ $67 & ATS @ $8 on Bet365

Tom Gilbert has been left out of the side in the initial team update so Luciano Leilua is starting on the left edge for the Cowboys. He’s great value at $4.10 & $29 on Neds for ATS & FTS respectively. Murchie has done the job for us on the right side next to Shaun Johnson and we love the $67 for him to score first in this one. Townsend & Holmes are loved by our model and we can’t disagree up against the struggling Warriors playing away from home.

You can find your own NRL value plays on our free odds comparison tool here.

NRL Draftstars Advice

The Cowboys can’t make any mistakes against the Warriors if they want to lock up a top 2 spot. Playing at home against a Warriors side with not much to play for, we expect the Cowboys to dominate and suggest looking for their OBs to start building your lineup. Feldt, Tualagi & Hiku offer good value, all priced $11,130 or less. With Tom Gilbert out, Luciano Leilua should get close to 80 minutes on the left edge for the Cowboys. He’s our standout pick in this contest at $$14,840.

There are six players with ceiling ranges above 70. Considering that the Cowboys are likely to win handsomely, we think Holmes & Nanai are the best picks here. They are in the second tier of players in terms of salary but can mix it with the best DFS players in the comp on their day. They’ve both had a couple of quiet weeks in a row but if the Cowboys put on a few tries, Nanai is their leading try scorer & Holmes their goal-kicker, so expect them to be amongst the points.

Player Performance Markets

You can find the player performance scores of every NRL player here. You can filter by minutes player, position & seasons there as well.

Shaun Lane ATS @ $5 is also a good value play and we especially love the $34 on offer for him to score the last try or first try in the 2nd half. He’s been in excellent form for the Eels next to Dylan Brown and we think that’ll continue against a Bulldogs’ side with not much left to play for in 2022.

Broncos v Storm

Friday 19th August, 7.55pm

Try Scorer Tips

Tom Eisenhuth FTS @ $51 & ATS @ $8 on Sportsbet

Cam Munster ATS @ $3.25 on Pointsbet

Jesse Bromwich FTS @ $75 on Playup

Ezra Mam LTS @ $29 on Bet365

Eisenhuth is priced as a middle forward when he’ll be on the right edge for the Storm. He has been benched in recent weeks, so it may be safer to play the ATS @ $8 in case this happens again. Munster has been playing full-back in the last couple of weeks so we love the $3.25 for him to score anytime against a Broncos side that has been historically poor against the Storm at Suncorp.

You can find your own NRL value plays on our free odds comparison tool here.

NRL Draftstars Advice

Te Maire Martin, Tom Eisenhuth & Kobe Hetherington are the three best value players under $11,000. With Pat Carrigan & Felise Kaufusi still missing, Hetherington and Eisenhuth should get more minutes and DFS points than usual. Eisenhuth has been benched in recent weeks in final team lists, however, we still think he can get 30+ points and be good value at his price. TMM doesn’t have a big ceiling range, but at his price, even if he can have a reasonable game at fullback and score 30 points it’ll be a good value pickup.

There are eight players with ceiling ranges above 70 and four of them actually have a ceiling range above 80. Brandon Smith has been in excellent form both on the field and from a DFS points scoring perspective. Coming off am 81 including an excellent long range try against the Panthers, we think he’s a great pick up at $$14,960. The other standout pick is Payne Haas. With Carrigan still missing and the Broncos needing to win this game to continue their run into the finals, we think he’ll have to play 65+ minutes and can easily exceed the 61 points our model has him projected for.

Whether you pick players like Munster & Grant or Reynolds and Staggs/Cobbo depends on how you think this game will pan out. With the Storm’s strong record at Suncorp against the Broncos in recent years, we would lean towards Munster & Grant.

Eels v Bulldogs

Saturday 20th August, 3pm

Try Scorer Tips

Paul Vaughan FTS @ $81 on Neds

Josh Addo-Carr FTS @$10 on Bet365/TAB

Tevita Pangai Junior ATS @ $16 and FTS/LTS Team @ $67 on TAB

Shaun Lane ATS @ $5 & FTS2H/LTS @ $34 on TAB

We absolutely love the Tevita Pangai Junior play on TAB. He’s not in the 17 currently, but we think he’ll come into the side in the final teams update. If he doesn’t, the play is void. If he does play, he is ridiculously good value at $67 just score the Bulldogs’ first/last try & $16 to score a try anytime.

Update Sat 20/8 – Pangai-Junior (TPJ) has been included in the side as expected. He’s currently on the bench, so the $16 ATS is probably the best way to play it at the moment. To think that he was $67 just score the Dogs’ last try earlier in the week is crazy! Lane, Addo-Carr & Vaughan are all still at the same price and we think they are great value plays. Lane is priced at 130% of our model’s projected odds and Addo-Carr & Vaughan are priced 150-200% of their historical FTS strike rate throughout their career.

NRL Draftstars Advice

Jake Averillo & Tevita Pangai-Junior are our favourite value picks under $11,000. Averillo has been hot and cold in recent weeks, but playing in the 3pm time slot we think he can get back to his best. Even if he scores around the 30 points our model has him projected for he’ll be a good value purchase. TPJ will be fresh and raring to go after a week off and is great value at less than $11k, which is shown by his ceiling range (average of 3 highest DFS scores in 2022) of 61.

There are nine players with ceiling ranges above 70 points in this contest, so we’re expecting it to be a high scoring DFS contest. The Bulldogs shocked the Eels when they beat them earlier this season. If you think they can get close to the Eels again, you’re likely thinking it’ll be a high scoring game given that it’ll be played on a perfect day in Sydney. In that case, we would suggest going with Burton, Addo-Carr and Kiraz who are all priced well for their high ceiling ranges.

However, if you think Parramatta can put on a dominant performance with the return of Mitch Moses, then we’d recommend their halves in Moses & Brown.

Manly v Sharks

Saturday 20th August, 5.30pm

Try Scorer Tips

Wade Graham FTS @ $34 on Pointsbet

Braden Uele ATS @ $7.5 on Playup

Ethan Bullemor FTS2H/LTS @ $81 & LTS Team @ $34 on TAB

Braden Uele got the job for us at $8 last weekend, scoring in the 2nd half. The Sea Eagles lineup has been ravaged by injuries in recent weeks. With Jake Trbojevic missing once again, we think Uele is great value at $7 or higher to score a try for the Sharks who need to keep winning to lock up a top 2 spot.

Update Sat 20/8 – Uele is now into $6.50 ATS on Sportsbet. We still think is a decent play against a Manly side destroyed by injuries and missing Jake Trbojevic. If he is confirmed to start, the $51 for FTS is an excellent value play. Graham is now into $31 which we still think is great value. Bullemor has now been crunched into to $51 or less on most sites. Considering the Sharks are strong favourites, we don’t like this play at the price it is at now.

NRL Draftstars Advice

Manly have lost Reuben Garrick, Jason Saab, Jake Trbojevic and Andrew Davey. Like most punters, we think the Sharks should win convincingly today. Therefore, Matt Moylan and one of Hunt or Uele would be our suggested value picks under $11k. There are only five players with a ceiling range over 70 in this contest. We think Hynes and Ramien are must haves on the right side for the Sharks and DCE is a strong fade option (leaving him out of your side).

Roosters v Wests Tigers

Saturday 20th August, 7.35pm

Try Scorer Tips

Paul Momirovski ATS @ $3 on Pointsbet (Void – not playing)

Joey Manu ATS @ $2.25 on TAB

Fa’amanu Brown ATS @ $8 on Sportsbet

Adam Doueihi LTS @ $51 on Bet365

Update Sat 20/8 – Momirovski isn’t play, Joey Manu & Fa’amanu Brown & Doueihi are around the same price for the markets we’ve listed above. Our model loves Joey Manu at $2.25. The way he’s been roaming around the field as a second fullback, we can’t disagree with it being a great value play. Fa’amanu Brown & Doueihi have looked great with ball in hand for the Tigers. We love these plays at the price listed above as there have also been rumours the Roosters might be resting a couple of players. If Tedesco or Manu get rested (Wes Naiqama could take their spot) then we think Brown and Doueihi are at a good price to continue their try scoring form in 2022.

NRL Draftstars Advice

Oliver Gildart comes into the centres for Paul Momirovski and is priced at less than $10k so we think he’s a great value pick to start off your team. Jock Madden is also priced well for someone who can easily score around the 40 mark even in games where the Tigers aren’t expected to come close to winning.

There are five players with a ceiling range over 70 in this contest. Wait till final team lists an hour before making a decision on what to do with your guns as there are rumours that one of the Roosters stars may be rested. With Naiqama in the reserves, this could be one of Manu or Tedesco who are the two best options for this contest. If they both play, we would go with Manu purely because his ceiling has been higher than Tedesco’s in 2022.
