Storm v Raiders
Sunday 17th July, 4.05pm
Try Scorer Tips
Hudson Young FTS/LTS @ $51 on Bet365
Zac Woolford FTS @ $71 on Sportsbet
Joseph Tapine FTS/LTS @ $81 on TAB
Tui Kamikamica FTS @ $67 on TAB (if he’s starting in final team lists)
Josh Papali’i ATS @ $11 on TAB
Corey Horsburgh ATS @ $21 on TAB & $101 for FTS or FTS2H (Scratch this – he’s OUT)
We’ve named half the starting forwards in this game as value try scorer players but the way we’ve decided to play them, we genuinely think they are all great value. Look out for final team lists an hour before the game before deciding on who to get on for FTS or FTS2H etc.
Gameday update (17/7) – Horsburgh was ruled out yesterday so scratch that play. Adam Elliott & James Schiller were named in the starting side in the teams update 24 hours before the game. We found Elliott @ $61 & Schiller @ $23 to score the first try. They are now at around $40 and $15 respectively. Make sure you join our free Discord community to get notifications for these types of plays.
The Raiders are now missing Horsburgh, Whitehead & Cotric. CHN, Adam Elliott & Schiller are OK replacements but it’s understandable why the Storm line has now moved to -13.5. Hudson Young has been in career-best form in 2022 and he’s priced at 1.5x what our model & every other bookie has him priced at. Excellent value play. Tapine & Kamikamica are in great form in 2022 and we love them at the $67-81 price range.
Josh Papali’i scored two tries in the Origin decider, it’s just unfortunate that they both got called back. Okay we’re obviously joking here but his try scoring strike rate is second to none and we love the $12 on offer for him to score a try anytime on Sportsbet.
Zac Woolford has had one tackle break & one line break in his 7 NRL games so far. His team are also 13.5 point underdogs against the Melbourne Storm. So this is a real brave call. But he has looked impressive so far in his short career and Sportsbet have him priced $10-15 more than every other bookie. Will be interesting to see how this one plays out!

NRL Draftstars Advice
This contest is full of superstars who have a strong DFS scoring pedigree with high ceiling ranges to go along with it. Munster, Grant, Papenhuyzen, Tapine, Hughes & Hudson Young are the 6 players with a ceiling range (average of their 3 highest DFS scores in 2022) over 70.
There’s very little that separates them when you look at their price, ceiling range or projected scores. So we’ve tried to think outside the box. Cam Munster’s coming off a covid-induced break. Harry Grant played a gruelling Origin decider less than 4 days ago. And Ryan Papenhuyzen did look like he was struggling with injury when they played the Sharks 10 days ago. If you’re looking for a reason to stay away from the Storm’s gun players, that’s all we can think of! These 3 & Hughes go up against a Raiders side missing Whitehead, Cotric & Horsburgh so if you think the Storm win easily, picking one of them & Hughes might be the way to go.
With a couple of the Raiders forwards missing and Papali’i coming off Origin duties, we think Tapine is the pick of the game. Has been in amazing form, coming off a trip away during the bye week, we think he’ll come out all guns blazing in this one. Hudson Young also looks like a good pick, especially if you think the Raiders can surprise everyone and upset the Storm in this one.

This was ridiculous 😅 Tipping Radley @ $67 to score the 1st try, Watson @ $101 to score the 1st try in the second half & let's not forget Manu ATS @ $3.50 😍
And we're only 1 game in to Super Saturday!#NRL #rugbyleague #sportsbet #NRLRoostersDragons https://t.co/gchsU2N8jj

Bulldogs v Rabbitohs
Sunday 17th July, 6.15pm
Try Scorer Tips
Tevita Pangai-Junior FTS/LTS @ $67 & ATS @ $10 on TAB
Jacob Kiraz FTS @ $20 & ATS @ $3.45 on Topsport
Jake Averillo FTS/LTS @ $21 on Bet365
Corey Waddell & Josh Jackson FTS @ $101 on TAB
Siliva Havili, Tom Burgess, Tevita Tatola & Mark Nicholls FTS/LTS Team @ $67 on TAB
Jacob Kiraz was being named on the wing but playing centre for a few weeks. However, with Aaron Schoupp missing this game due to covid, Declan Casey is likely to take his centre spot. So Braidon Burns will likely actually playing centre with Kiraz outside him. This is why we love the FTS & ATS price for Kiraz on Topsport, who have him priced as a centre.
TPJ is an excellent value play on TAB worth getting on now. However, the Rabbitohs forwards are worth waiting for final team lists before deciding on how to play the $67 FTS team or $101 FTS 2nd half.
Gameday Update (17/7) – Casey has been named in the centres for Schoupp and it’s likely Kiraz does in fact play on the right wing for the Bulldogs with Burns inside him. Kiraz has now been crunched in to $2.33 & $12 from $3.45 & $20. Cook & Murray have been rested with Havili & Moale named in their spots. We tweeted Havili was a great play at $67 FTS Team & $101 FTS when the news broke and Havili is now in to $44 or less to score the 1st try across all the bookies!
We still love TPJ, Averillo, Jackson & Waddell at the prices listed above. Jackson & Waddell are priced as middle forwards but both playing on an edge up against a Rabbitohs team now missing Cook & Murray as well as Campbell Graham & Arrow could be a late out as well.

NRL Draftstars Advice
Raymond Faitala-Mariner has been in excellent form on the field and it shows in his DFS scores. Averaging just under 40 points in his last 3 games, he’s rated 9/10 in our value ratings and is a great pick at $10,120.
With Cook & Murray missing for the Rabbitohs, we think Siliva Havili is the big winner. Priced at $11,150 he should get time at both hooker & lock. We think he could easily surpass the 34 points our model has him projected score and would be a great way to start building your DFS lineup for this contest.
Matt Burton has the highest ceiling range by far in this contest and if he isn’t ruled out, we think he’s a great pick. Tevita Pangai Junior is priced well at $13,380 and has shown he can crack 50+ points so we think he’d be a great addition to your team against an understrength Rabbitohs pack.

Cowboys v Sharks
Friday 15th July, 6pm
Try Scorer Tips
Scott Drinkwater FTS @ $21 on Bet365
Braden Uele Anytime Try Scorer (ATS) @ $11 & FTS 2nd Half @ $81 on TAB
Jake Granville FTS 2nd Half (FTS2H) @ $101 on TAB
Teig Wilton FTS @ $34 on Neds

Drinkwater, Uele & Granville are significantly better odds on the bookmakers we’ve listed. Drinkwater has been in excellent form for the Cowboys in 2022 and is listed at $15 or less on every other site. The Cowboys are missing some of their regular players due to injuries & Origin. We think this could work out in Drinkwater’s favour as they’ll rely on him more in the opposition 20 metre zone.
Braden Uele & Granville are both named on the bench and should be fresh early in the 2nd half. We think $81 & $101 respectively is a ridiculously good price for them to score the first try in the 2nd half. They are $61 or less on every other site. We’re excited about Uele particularly given he’s only marginally behind the best try scoring middle forwards in the NRL.
Teig Wilton has been in excellent form in 2022. With Nikora out, he’ll go back to playing 80 minutes on the edge for the Sharks & we love the $34 for him to score the first try.

NRL Draftstars Advice
Teig Wilton & Griffin Neame are the standout value picks for this contest. Wilton has been playing limited minutes due to Wade Graham & Briton Nikora. However, with Nikora out, he’ll likely play 80 minutes for the Sharks and is rated 9/10 value at his price. The Cowboys are missing Jordan McLean & Jeremiah Nanai so Griffin Neame will have a larger role to play for their forward pack. He scored an impressive try in their last game so he could comfortably crack the 33 points our model has projected him to score.
Sorting by ceiling range (average of the player’s 3 highest DFS scores in 2022), you can see Hynes & Talakai are clearly the two players in this contest with the biggest upside. If Talakai does start, he would be a great pick at $13,370. With the Cowboys missing a few of their stars, Hynes would be a great way to start building your DFS lineup even at his hefty price-tag.
Toby Rudolf would be a player we would recommend fading (leaving out of your team). He’s priced at $17,740 and we just don’t think he has the upside to be worth paying that much money for. He’s also returning from having Covid and with Finucane, McInnes, BHU, Fifita & Hunt around him, we don’t think he’ll have the opportunity to score well.

Eels v Warriors
Friday 15th July, 7.55pm
Try Scorer Tips
Chanel Harris-Tavita ATS @ $13 & FTS/LTS @ $101 on TAB
Bunty Afoa FTS 2nd Half @ $151 & LTS Team @ $67 on TAB
Shaun Johnson ATS @ $10 on TAB & FTS 2nd Half @ $81 on TAB
The Eels are understandably clear favourites in this game. However, we love CHT & Shaun Johnson at their price on TAB. CHT had a great game at fullback in the Warriors’ win in their homecoming against the Tigers. He moves back to the halves but he’s priced as a middle forward. A standout value play however you look at it.
Shaun Johnson has clearly regressed in 2022 but the $81 for him to score the 1st try in the second half especially is great value. Up against an Eels pack likely missing Matterson & Junior Paulo, we think he’s a great shout up against the Eels’ bench forwards early in the second half.
Bunty Afoa isn’t a noted try scorer but if the Warriors only score a couple of tries, we love the $67 for him to score the last try for the Warriors. The $151 is also a great price for someone with a strong running game up against the Eels’ bench forwards.

NRL Draftstars Advice
The Eels’ back 5 are all rated a 6-8/10 in our value ratings. They’re all priced lower than $13k so if you think the Eels can put on a cricket score against the Warriors at Bankwest, we’d recommend fitting as many of them in your lineup as possible. Looking closely at their ceiling range, Simonsson, Gutherson & Penisini have ceiling ranges around 60 whereas Sivo’s scoring has been more inconsistent being stuck outside of Waqa Blake on the Eels’ left edge.
Looking at the ceiling ranges, Moses, Papali’i & Dylan Brown stand out in this contest. Mitchell Moses has been in great form and is coming off a dominant display where he scored 88 points. Papali’i comes up against his old team and should be motivated to put in a big performance. We would recommend Moses & Papali’i as two of the players to build your teams around. They also both play on the Eels’ right edge. So you could go with the whole Eels right edge of Moses, Papali’i, Penisini & Simonsson as a base to build your team around.
Junior Paulo has been in solid DFS form, with scores of 46, 58 & 45 in his last games. If he does back up for the Eels, we would recommend fading him in this contest. Even though Ryan Matterson is still out, this game will be played 48 hours after the gruelling Origin decider on Wednesday. We just think he’s unlikely to get his standard minutes & DFS output after the physical & mental toll of the third Origin game.

Roosters v Dragons
Saturday 16th July, 3pm
Try Scorer Tips
Connor Watson 2nd Half FTS @ $101 on TAB & ATS @ $10
Nat Butcher ATS @ $8 on Pointsbet & 2nd/3rd TS on TAB
Joseph Manu ATS @ $3.5 on Pointsbet
Victor Radley FTS/LTS @ $67 on TAB
Nat Butcher was $101 FTS & $13 ATS on TAB earlier in the week. Lindsay Collins being knocked out in Origin meant he wouldn’t be playing this weekend. Then Angus Crichton was forced to play more than 70 minutes. We thought Butcher was going to be a great play at ATS especially given he would either start in the 2nd row or get more minutes in the middle of the field. Unfortunately, it’s now too late to get on him at those odds. But you can still find $81-101 for him to score the 2nd or 3rd try on TAB. Make sure you follow us on Twitter or join our free Discord channel earlier in the week to look out for these value plays!
If you watch enough rugby league, you’ll know Connor Watson’s running game is perfectly suited to tackle busting & try scoring! He’s priced at $101 to score the first try in the 2nd half. We even like him to score a try at any time at $10. He’ll get more minutes due to the Roosters pack missing Collin & JWH. And Crichton will likely get rested or less minutes than usual. Look out for the Roosters’ final team lists an hour before kick-off.
If you converted Victor Radley’s strike rate at scoring the first try to betting odds, it would be $45. We are getting $67 here for a game the Roosters are a clear favourite in. The Dragons’ pack is missing Tariq Sims & they could also be missing their best player, Ben Hunt.
Joey Manu has been in career-best form over the last few weeks. He could fill in for Tedesco at fullback, which would further increase his touches. We love the $3.50 on offer for him to score a try at any time.

Sitili Tupouniua is the standout value pick in this contest. With the Roosters pack missing a couple of their stars and Angus Crichton coming off 70+ mins in the Origin decider, he’ll almost definitely play the full game. We have him projected to score 50 points which would be a great return for his $12,670 price tag.
Joseph Manu has the second best ceiling range (average of his 3 highest DFS scores in 2022) in this contest. He’s coming off an 81 in his last game and with the chance that Tedesco gets rested, he could even move to fullback. And we know how good he can be there with his record-breaking 400 run metres for the Kiwis at fullback.
Nat Butcher is also an excellent value in this contest. He has a 13 in his last games but that was due to injury. He is a base stats beast and we think he could easily surpass the 42 points we have him projected for given the Roosters’ late outs.

Sea Eagles v Knights
Saturday 16th July, 5.30pm
Try Scorer Tips
Anthony Milford ATS @ $6 on TAB
Lachlan Fitzgibbon ATS @ $6.50 & FTS 2nd Half @ $51 on TAB
Daniel Saifiti FTS/LTS @ $101 on TAB
Jacob Saifiti ATS @ $16 & FTS2H @ $91 on TAB
Jacob Saifiti had an excellent debut in the Blues’ heartbreaking loss in the Origin decider on Wednesday. Him & his twin Daniel are priced extremely well on TAB to score a try against the Sea Eagles. Depending on who is starting, FTS & FTS2H bets at $91-101 are also clearly a strong value option.
Our model has identified Milford & Fitzgibbon as good value plays for anytime try scorer markets. If you look at their historical strike rate, they are extremely good value. Milford will be up for a big game in his 200th so we love the play on him especially. Fitzgibbon is priced at $41 at best for FTS markets but is $51 to score the first try in the 2nd half on TAB. We love the extra 20% on offer here as he’ll likely play 70-80 minutes starting in the backrow.

Tolutau Koula is showing us that he has more than just raw speed in his arsenal. With scores of 55, 43 & 66 in his last 3 games, we think he’s a lock at $11,550. Up against a Newcastle left edge missing Bradman Best and Fitzgibbon returning to the team after a few weeks, Koula could hit his ceiling range of 56 quite easily.
It’s hard to look past Haumole Olakau’atu when you’re looking at DFS picks for this contest. he has the highest ceiling range of any player in this contest and has a 95 & 66 in two of his last 3 games. Let’s keep it simple, he’s a must have.
Jayden Brailey is playing his 2nd game in 2022. We think he’s a great option to fade (leave out) of your team. Even though Chris Randall isn’t named on the bench, he could be a late in. It’d be a big task to ask Brailey to play 80 minutes at hooker against the impressive Sea Eagles. And even if he does, he usually relies on a high tackle count so you’re not getting much upside for his $18,040 price tag.

Titans v Broncos
Saturday 16th July, 7.35pm
Try Scorer Tips
Patrick Herbert FTS/LTS @ $34 & $5.50 on TAB
Kotoni Staggs FTS @ $15 on TAB/Pointsbet
Tino Faasumaleuai ATS @ $7.50 on Sportsbet
Kobe Hetherington/Ryan James FTS @ $67 on TAB/Neds
Erin Clark FTS2H @ $81 on TAB
AJ Brimson FTS/LTS @ $21 on Bet365
Brimson, Staggs & Herbert are priced noticeably higher than either our model’s odds or their career strike rate. This should be a high scoring affair and we love the value on offer for these outside backs.
Erin Clark has been in reasonable form in 2022. He’s named on the bench in this contest and we think the $81 for a hooker who will be fresh early in the second half is a great price. He may not be the complete set of skills at this stage in his career, but he is a strong ball runner.
Hetherington & James are great value according to our model & their career strike rates. They are priced more than triple & double the odds they should be if you go by how often they’ve scored first in matches. We absolutely love this play up against an underwhelming Titans pack.
In saying that, the one shining light for the Titans’ pack has been their inspiring leader, big Tino Faasumaleuai. He is close to the best try scoring middle forward in the NRL. The $7.50 on offer on Sportsbet for him to score a try at anytime is excellent value up against a Broncos pack missing Capewell, Haas, Robati & Jensen.

You can find our free odds comparison tool here.
NRL Draftstars Advice
We have projected scores for each NRL Draftstars contest available on our stats bible. You can download these projections and upload them on to the cruncher on the Draftstars site.

Tanah Boyd gets his no.6 jersey back and is our best value pick of this DFS contest priced at $9,800. The Titans don’t have much to play for this season, but a home game against the Broncos missing some of their superstars could be one of their last chances for a win in 2022. Even if he can get close to our model’s projection of 40, we think he’ll be a good cheap pick that’ll allow you to pick up some of the other high priced guns.
The Broncos pack have a few solid options that would be a good addition to your team. Walters, James, Hosking & Hetherington are all priced well for what they could deliver in a pack without Haas, Capewell & potentially Carrigan.
There are 4 players with a 70+ ceiling range in this contest. If you’re building multiple teams, we think picking Reynolds and Staggs in the same teams & big Tino & David Fifita in the others would be the way to go. Tino could be a risk of getting less minutes coming off an Origin decider only 3 days ago, so he’d probably be our last preference.

Wests Tigers v Panthers
Sunday 17th July, 2pm
Try Scorer Tips
James Fisher-Harris FTS/LTS @ $81 on TAB
Luke Brooks FTS @ $61 on Pointsbet
Fa’amanu Brown FTS @ $46 on Sportsbet
Viliame Kikau FTS @ $17 on Topsport
Luke Brooks has been in the news for all the wrong reasons in recent weeks but is still named in the halves for the Tigers. With the Panthers’ Origin contingent all rested for this game, our model thinks the $61 on offer for him to score the 1st try is an excellent price. Our model & his career strike rate would have the price closer to $40.
Another player that could benefit from playing up against a far weaker Panthers team is Fa’amanu Brown. He’s been noticeably active out of dummy half, especially close to the opponent’s try line. He’s already scored 3 tries in 180 minutes across 5 games this season. We think $46 is a great price for him to sneak over early in this one.
Viliame Kikau’s career strike rate at scoring the first try in games is very impressive. If you converted it to betting odds, it would be $13. The $17 on Topsport for him to score first against the Tigers with new edge defensive combinations on both sides is great value.
James Fisher-Harris isn’t a noted try scorer but the we think the $81 on TAB for him to score first in this game is too high. He’ll be running at a Tigers’ starting pack which includes two rookies in the 2nd row and Hastings & Fa’amanu Brown at lock & hooker respectively. Our model considers that the Panthers are still favourites in this contest and has him priced at $37. Now that seems a bit short but he’s also less than $65 on every other bookie.

You can find our free odds comparison tool here.
NRL Draftstars Advice
The Panthers have rested their Origin stars which means there’s a lot of minutes to go around in their forward pack. Mitch Kenny starts at hooker and should get around 60 minutes with Soni Luke being a rookie hooker on the bench. He’s rated 9/10 in our value ratings & projected to score 42 points.
Eisenhuth & Sorenson will also be good value picks given JFH is likely their only other middle forward who can play long minutes.
Joe Ofahengaue has been in excellent form and also has the highest ceiling range in this contest. Kikau isn’t far behind. We think they are the two best high priced picks with big upside.
