Wicky, NRL Fantasy Scout & Kyle Bedford break down each side’s players by which side of the field they play on for every NRL game in Round 14 in 2024. Where do teams favour going to in attack? Where do teams leak most tries?
Whether it’s to decide your NRL Fantasy or NRL Supercoach Captain or to lock in the last leg of your multi – we have you covered!
You can check out all of Wicky’s content, tips and more here and you can follow NRL Fantasy Scout on Instagram for regular updates.
The Sharks have scored 12 tries through middle forwards this season – no other team has scored more than 10.
Bulldogs v Eels
Mon 10/6, 4pm
Wicky’s breakdown – The Bulldogs have conceded over 60% of their tries through their right edge and the Eels left winger has scored 13 tries (usually Sivo) – the most by any position type by any team in 2024! Load up your multis, bring him into your Draft teams – it’s time for Siiiivooooooooo!

The Bulldogs attack has evolved in recent weeks. Salmon and Preston have been scoring tries for fun in that right 2nd rower position. Kiraz has been great also. It may be to do with Kikau missing in recent weeks.
Dragons v West Tigers
Fri 7/6, 8pm
Wicky’s breakdown – This game should be played on a heavy track with rain likely to be around between two teams who aren’t the most exciting in attack with the Tigers the only team yet to rack up 200 points for the season! Lomax, Hunt and Su’A are named by the Dragons and are likely to play. Su’A should come on to the left edge from the bench later in the game.

We’ve mentioned in previous weeks how right-centric the Dragons’ attack is and with Ben Hunt backing up after his 2-try performance on Wednesday night, we expect this to continue! Faitala-Mariner had his best game in years last week – we expect him to continue his form with Hunt back beside him. Lomax scored an outstanding try in Game 1 and if you are including wingers in your multis or deciding on sneaky potential VC options for Supercoach he could be a goer.
Titans v Rabbitohs
Sat 8/6, 3pm
Wicky’s breakdown – Souths and the Titans score 62 and 40 percent of their tries through their left edge players respectively. Now let’s take a closer look. Keiran Foran returns for the Titans – his playmaking skills and the space that David Fifita creates are what leads to tries for AKP (Khan-Pereira) on the left wing.

You can almost disregard the stats, the try map and everything else. Alex Johnston scores tries for fun on the left wing. Trell, Wighton and Cody Walker now combine in the spine for the first time this season. 3pm game on the GC. One of the highest pre-game total under/over lines for the season. Mark ‘AJ’ down for at least a couple of tries today!
The Titans have also conceded 14 tries to Fullbacks – no other team has conceded more than 10! With Latrell on the verge of a possible Origin return – it’s hard to see him not having a huge day out today!
Cowboys v Warriors
Sat 8/6, 5.30pm
Wicky’s breakdown – Dearden and Nanai are on the bench, you’d think Dearden comes in to the starting team in the 1 hr final update. Holmes and Cotter are 18 and 19th man currently – if they come in the Cowboys will be close to full strength at home. The Warriors have had most of their cattle return also, but SJ is still missing.

The Cowboys have conceded 10 tries to middle forwards, 2nd most of any team in 2024. AFB is in the opposition side – coming off a week suspension due to his behaviour. You can bet he’s going to be fired up – he’s scored 5 tries in 11 games this season.
The Warriors have only scored 23% of their tries through their left edge. This is usually because SJ prefers the right, hitting DWZ on the right wing. With him out and TMM seeing more ball on the left, the numbers have been a bit more balanced.
Broncos v Sharks
Sat 8/6, 7.35pm
Wicky’s breakdown – Tristan Sailor slots in for Reece Walsh at Fullback (his next game will now be Origin 2, with the 11 day stand down including the Broncos next 2 games). The Sharks are missing Nicho Hynes – and similar to our notes for SJ and the Warriors, it means their attack is likely to be more balanced. Mulitalo could see more ball with Trindall back and Hynes missing. Relevant for SC players and people wanting to put him in their multis!

The Broncos have conceded 9 tries to middle forwards this season. They’re missing Willison today and Haas and Carrigan are backing up from big performances in Origin. The Sharks have scored 12 tries through middle forwards this season – no other team has scored more than 10. Cam McInnes didn’t do his reputation any harm with his performance in game 1 – there’s some value about him in try scorer markets which we’ll cover in our Punter’s Preview Article for Round 14.
Storm v Knights
Sun 9/6, 2pm
Wicky’s breakdown – Both sides prefer to attack down the left and concede slightly more on the right. The Storm’s left winger has scored 9 tries this season – the most of any position for the Storm this year. Xavier Coates will definitely be a popular option for multis today!

Although the stats don’t point to it, with Kamikamica, Elliott and big NAS in the middle forward rotation, we’re hoping there’s a big bopper crashing over for 1st or Last try scorer!
Panthers v Sea Eagles
Sun 9/6, 4.05pm
Wicky’s breakdown – The Panthers have had a heavy reliance on their right edge in attack. 54% of their tries have been scored on the right edge and the right winger (usually Turuva) has scored 10 tries, compared to 5 by the left winger (usually To’o). However, with Cleary and Edwards both missing – their attack might be more evenly spread with Garner especially looking great in attack in recent weeks on the left edge. Will be interesting to see whether him or Sorenson play left with Martin (injured) out today.

The Panthers concede noticeably more tries on their right edge (52%). With Cole and one of Sorenson or Garner (both usually play left edge) on that edge – we can see this continuing. Brooks and Burbo on that left edge have looked dangerous when running the ball this season – it might be an area where Manly look to in attack today.
