Wicky, NRL Fantasy Scout & Kyle Bedford break down each side’s players by which side of the field they play on for every NRL game in Round 12 in 2024. Where do teams favour going to in attack? Where do teams leak most tries?
Whether it’s to decide your NRL Fantasy or NRL Supercoach Captain or to lock in the last leg of your multi – we have you covered!

Broncos v Titans
Sun 26/5, 2pm
Wicky’s breakdown – Another game with team list chaos. Jolliffe is out for the Titans but Foran is in the reserves, he COULD be a late in. Staggs is out for the Broncos but Walsh, Haas and Walters should most likely be back (named to start)!

Walsh plays a depleted Titans outfit at 2pm on a flat track at Suncorp against a depleted Titans side. And he’s goal kicking. This could be a massacre! The fullback, five-eighth and right winger have scored 8-9 tries each for the Broncos – watch out for Walsh, Mam and Mariner. They’ve been elite in 2024. Scarily for the Titans – they’ve conceded 14 tries to Fullbacks in 2024, almost double the next worst team!
Warriors v Dolphins
Sun 26/5, 4.05pm
Wicky’s breakdown – Shaun Johnson, Egan and Tohu Harris out. AFB now suspended (internally). The Wahs are cooked. The Dolphins have been super resilient all year and now have the Hammer back (he scored 2 tries last week).

The Dolphins have scored 9 tries through their left winger, fullback and middle forwards. Look out for Bostock, the Hammer and especially Mark Nicholls, Max Plath and Josh Kerr! Nicholls has scored 2 weeks in a row – JMK is a GUN hooker at putting his middle forwards over.
Bulldogs v Dragons
Thu 23/5, 7.50pm
Wicky’s breakdown – 46% of the Dogs tries have been scored on the left and the Dragons have conceded 53% of their tries on the right side v only 21% on the left. The Dragons have scored 67% of their tries on the right v only 18% on the left. Our favourite stat – the right winger has scored 9 tries this season compared to 0 tries from the left winger for the Dragons!

From a Fantasy/Supercoach perspective – Kiraz is an interesting prospect and we think Preston coming on to that right side might help that edge get more ball. And his base stats are elite. From a punting perspective – the obvious plays here are Lomax and Addo-Carr. If you find a market for Lomax v Ravalawa and it’s close to the same price for both players – Lomax would be a standout pick.
Cowboys v West Tigers
Fri 24/5, 6pm
Wicky’s breakdown – The Tigers have had a lot of team changes due to injuries and suspensions in the last couple of weeks. The only experienced NRL player in the graphic below would be Papalii. The Cowboys are playing at home – this could be a demolition similar to what happened late in the 2023 season.

Braidon Burns scored a couple of tries on the right wing for the Cowboys last week and this is Nanai’s last club game before Origin teams are named – you just know he’ll want to put on a show to lock up a starting spot for the Maroons with David Fifita. Same goes for Dearden. These 3 are who we would target as try scorers.
Sea Eagles v Storm
Fri 24/5, 8pm
Wicky’s breakdown – Jahrome Hughes has been named but we think he’s unlikely to play. Saab returns for Manly. No clear trends with tries scored and conceded here and with the Storm missing Munster and Papenhuyzen (and likely Hughes) – the Storm in attack will be tricky to predict. With that right edge for Manly back together – we can definitely see them getting more ball.

Sualauvi Faalogo is a freak. The Storm fullback made some down the left side without too much success last week but that’s clearly his favoured side. Manly have scored 9 tries to left wingers in 2024 – more than to any other position, so we’d say Coates is a good option for the Storm. Whereas for Manly – we like Saab and Olakau’atu. Big Haumole was in beast mode last week – running at Wishart and Blore – both inexperienced at NRL level in the position they’ll be defending at, we love him to crash over this week.
Raiders v Roosters
Sat 25/5, 3pm
Wicky’s breakdown – Josh Papalii and Connor Watson are the two notable outs for this one. Both teams don’t have any obvious trends for where they score and concede tries – we think a 3pm game should lead to a high scoring contest here. Crichton, Suaalii, Keary could all potentially be fighting it out for an Origin jersey, especially with Cody Walker being ruled out for this round! Radley moves to an edge this week – will be interesting to see how he does next to Sam Walker, instead of Nat Butcher (dropped).

Sharks v Panthers
Sat 25/5, 5.30pm
Wicky’s breakdown – The Sharks have had two impressive wins away from home and now come back to take on the Panthers at Shark Park! Garner is out for the Panthers with Sorenson back on his left edge, the Sharks go in with Hynes and Atkinson again in the halves.
R WING | R CTR | R EDG | R HLF | L HLF | L EDG | L CTR | L WING |

To’o | Alamoti | Sorensen | Luai | Cole | Martin | Tago | Turuva |
L WING | L CTR | L EDG | L HLF | R HLF | R EDG | R CTR | R WING |
The two clear trends in this game are the Sharks scoring tries through middle forwards and the Panthers scoring noticeably more tries through their right winger (10) than their left winger (4). Turuva should be the right Panthers winger. And the Sharks middles who have been on fire are Hazelton and Talakai. Hazelton has scored 4 in the last 5 and Talakai has scored the last three games. Against good opposition. And yes, in the middle of the field!
Rabbitohs v Eels
Sat 25/5, 7.35pm
Wicky’s breakdown – Cody Walker has been ruled out of this game, it might mean Wighton gets to play on that lethal left edge with AJ on the wing and Latrell sweeping around. Both teams have recently lost their coaches. The Eels have been atrocious on their edges – conceding 16 tries to both left and right winger and centres so far this season.

The only team that’s worse on an edge – the Rabbitohs have conceded 20 tries to right wingers and centres. Blaize Talagi has been electric in attack – he’s scored 1 try in each of his starts at fullback, and went close another couple of times!
