Alex Johnston @ $2.15 on TAB. If you went by our model, he’d be priced at $1.70. By his career stats, he’d be priced $1.90. And we can get him for $2.15. If you think the Panthers are going to win in a close/low scoring game then I’d stay away but otherwise this is a great value play.

First Try Scorer 2nd Half

Jacob Host @ $51 on Neds/Ladbrokes. He plays on the left edge for the Rabbitohs when he comes on the field and Keaon Koloamatangi moves in to the middle of the field. The left edge for the Rabbitohs is one of the hottest in the competition, so $51 for him to score the first try in the second half seems like a great price considering Jaydn Su’A is around $41 on most sites.

Last Try Scorer

Nathan Cleary @ $21 on Bet365. Cleary hasn’t been shy of taking the line on in recent weeks even with his shoulder injury, so we’re happy to back his career try scoring form. He’s scored the last try in the match in 12 of 123 games and 4 times this season already. So the $21 is a great price for a fun bet to follow late in the Grand Final!

Clive Churchill Medal (Player Of The Match)

If you’re going to place a bet on the Clive Churchill Medal, our first suggestion would be to think of who you think will win the game or who you’ll be following. Nathan Cleary & Cody Walker are the two obvious choices from both teams as they are dominant playmakers for their respective sides and were close to winning the Dally M Medal in 2021. Some of the main trends in previous winners of the medal are players who are Origin or Australian representatives, in jersey # 1, 6, 7 or 13 & players who score a try are obviously more likely to stand out.

Going by the above factors, our tip for the Clive Churchill Medal is Nathan Cleary, available for $4 on most sites. If you think the Rabbitohs will win or are looking for more of a value play, then we think either Cam Murray at $10 or Damien Cook @ $17 are better value plays. Especially if you think it will be a tight, low scoring Grand Final then they’ll have the opportunity to wrack up some huge tackle numbers and a line break or a try assist from them in the middle of the field may be enough to clinch the medal!
