The Brisbane Heat and Perth Scorchers are set to face each other in the BBL Final for season 2022/23. The Heat have done an excellent job to get here – whereas the Scorchers are experienced BBL Finalists. The Heat will want this to be a low scoring tussle whereas the Scorchers are at home, know they are the stronger team and will be hoping to lock up another BBL Title.

Aaron Hardie $20,800
Hardie’s batting at 3 and bowling 2-4 overs most games. He’s the highest priced player in this contest but he’s a no brainer for a rampant Scorchers outfit.
David Payne $15,700 & Matt Kelly $14,400
Payne is a tall, quick left armer that we’re backing to destroy a fragile Heat batting lineup. Him and Kelly around the $15k mark are a great way to get a couple of Scorchers bowlers into your lineup at an affordable price.
Fade options
Michael Neser $20,700
Neser’s been great for the Heat this season with both bat and ball. However, we think the Scorchers are deservedly strong favourites for this game and if he doesn’t get early wickets, we think he’ll struggle to get close to his ceiling as he is still a lower order bat.
His scores this season will likely lead to him having a high ownership percentage – a great chance to zig when others are zagging!
Nathan McSweeney $15,700
McSweeney has had a couple of good games for the Heat including one where he pitched in with the ball. Similar to Neser – we don’t think the Heat stand much of a chance today and we also don’t think he’ll bowl in the BBL final. The Scorchers have a great bowling attack, we’re backing them to knock over McSweeney early.

Team building strategy
There are a couple of key concepts in BBL DFS. One is correlation. Our value picks are Scorchers players – also specifically they are key top order batsmen or bowlers who are likely to bowl in the powerplay. So by fading McSweeney who’s likely to bat against those bowlers and Neser who’s likely to bowl at Hardie and the other gun Scorchers batsmen, we’ve given ourselves the best chance at maximising our scoring potential.

Our Men’s T20 portal suggests that even though Bryant scores quickly against right-arm pacers he has struggled to make it big. Andrew Tye, the death over specialist mixes it up and picks crucial wickets at the back end. In a pressure game such as the final, this battle could be the difference of at least 15-20 runs and can potentially change the outcome of this match.
