NBA Draftstars Preview Friday 14 January

NBA Draftstars Preview Friday 14 January

Friday’s five-game $25,000 NBA Draftstars slate brings together some superstars in Giannis Antetokounmpo, Nikola Jokic, Stephen Curry, James Harden and Kevin Durant but it’s all about the value picks.

LAST GAME LEARNINGS

Bucks guard Khris Middleton (SF $15,780) attracted 30% ownership and offered some value with his 57.75 DS points in Tuesday’s slate. Bobby Portis (PF|C $13,480) had 25% ownership but was less effective, managing only 20.75 DS points.

Stephen Curry (PG $17,930) top scored in Wednesday’s slate with 61 DS points on a triple-double (only his second of the season) but only had 1% ownership. He is up and down and has top price, so that’s no surprise.

Pelicans star Brandon Ingram (SF|PF $15,830) was well owned in Wednesday’s slate and offered a handy return with 56 DS points for his 49% owners.

Clippers guard Reggie Jackson (PG $11,860) was a popular pick on Wednesday too, with 23% ownership but delivered 26.25 DS points, with teammate Amir Coffey (PG $10,950) offering value with 43.75 DS points his 12% ownership. Keep an eye on him.

The Memphis Grizzlies are on a 10-game win streak with Tyus Jones (PG $10,030) looming as a bargain option in NBA Draftstars after scoring 40.5 DS points against the Warriors.

Timberwolves big man Karl-Anthony Towns topped Monday’s slate for points with a DS score of 64.75

Timberwolves big man Karl-Anthony Towns (C $19,060) topped Monday’s slate for points with a DS score of 64.75. Towns has a fine three-game average of 52.6 DS points which is the third-best in this slate.

Under-priced Nets point guard Kyrie Irving (PG|SG $15,050) attracted the highest ownership on Tuesday with 61% on Tuesday, scoring 41.5 DS points but he’s only available in road games.

With James Harden (PG $19,270) out, All-Star Kevin Durant (SF|PF $19,700) only scored 56 DS points at his price, which would’ve disappointed his 24% ownership.

Nuggets forward Aaron Gordon (PF $10,250) offered a decent return with 46.5 DS points for 7% ownership on Wednesday too.

INJURY NEWS

Draymond Green (PF|C $12,180) is still out with a calf injury for the Warriors, while Bucks star Jrue Holiday (PG $16,860) is doubtful with an ankle issue.

The Clippers will be missing Luke Kennard (SG|SF $8,970) and Justise Winslow (SF|PG $7,100) due to COVID-19 protocols but Nicolas Batum (SF|PF $9,080) is back from injury.

Nets bigman LaMarcus Aldridge (C $9,130) is unlikely with a foot worry, while Irving will not play their home game due to New York City’s rules on unvaccinated athletes.

The Blazers will be without Anfernee Simons (SG|PG $15,710), who has been well owned lately, for personal reasons along with CJ McCollum (SG|PG $13,820). Damian Lillard (PG $17,700) is undergoing abdominal surgery and will be out for some time so look for a cheapie to pick up the slack.

Ben McLemore chimed in with decent points from time to time and with the Trail Blazers missing some key players, he looms as a big value pick

NBA DRAFTSTARS VALUE OPTIONS

We already mentioned Middleton (SF $15,780) but his three-game average is 50.6, way up on his season average of 36.1. He needs to be strongly considered for NBA Draftstars.

Ben McLemore (SG $11,580) chimed in with decent points from time to time and with the Trail Blazers missing some key players, he looms as a big value pick. McLemore had 33.75 DS points with 8% ownership on Tuesday.

Nets center Day’Ron Sharpe (C $9,560) came out of nowhere with minimal ownership for his 30.25 DS points in Tuesday’s slate, so look out for him.

Denver’s Austin Rivers (SG $6,320) is another to consider, having managed 37.75 DS points on Monday, while Memphis’ Jaren Jackson (C|PF $13,890) has been in good form during the Grizzlies’ streak.

Consider Golden State’s Kevin Looney (C $8,860) too, particularly with Green out, having sored 41.5 DS points with only 1% in Monday’s slate. He may be a good point of difference. Klay Thompson (SG $10,090) is set for his third game back and has started slowly but could this be his game to explode in Friday’s slate?

NBA DRAFTSTARS PREMIUM PLAYS

Giannis Antetokounmpo (PF|C $23,440) and Nikola Jokic (C $22,020) are arguably priced out of contention this slate and it’s hard to jump on Durant (SF|PF $19,700) again with James Harden (PG $19,270) set to return and impact his scoring ability. The aforementioned Towns (C $19,060) is strongly worth considering against the Grizzlies.
